Disciples Mission Fund

From the DMF website:

Disciples Mission Fund (DMF) is the common fund of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). Disciples Mission Fund supports 72 ministries of wholeness as close as your local congregation and reaching around the globe.  As a Global Mission church, we understand that equipping congregations for mission includes learning from, learning with, and offering support to our partners beyond the borders of the United States and Canada.

Swaziland

FCC is a supporter of Global Ministries' mission work in Swaziland, Africa.  FCC helps support eight Neighborhood Carepoint Centers in partnership with Global Ministries and Kukhany'Okusha Zion Church.  These centers feed over 650 hungry children per month.  Funds raised at FCC for this special mission also aid in preschool education, building projects, HIV/AIDs education programs as well as farming efforts.

Our last trip in the summer of 2016 consisted of visiting all eight Neighborhood Carepoint Centers. The team witnessed conditions of extreme poverty and disease, learned more about the precious and precarious lives of these children in Swaziland, and of course, experienced another culture exploring what it means to be more fully the body of Christ. We have developed and deepened friendships, love and understanding.

In this small landlocked country in Southern Africa, an estimated one in four adults are living with HIV. Since the first cases of AIDS were reported in the country in 1986, the virus has spread at an alarming rate and now Swaziland has the highest HIV prevalence in the world at 26 percent according to the 2012 UNAIDS Report
