Dear Friends,

As many of you are aware, Shelby County’s COVID positive rates have been rising sharply in the past few weeks.  Today, our regional minister Richard Spleth once again strongly recommended that our congregations suspend in-person gathered worship until the seven day positivity rate for our county drops to 5% or lower.  Today, Shelby County’s seven day positivity rate is over 12%, so we have a ways to go.  Effective immediately, we will suspend in-person worship and provide a live-streamed worship service.  Our church office will remain open.  If you need anything, please do not hesitate to contact Pam in the office, an elder, or myself.  We are blessed with a loving, vibrant congregation.  We will continue to care for each other and to serve God.  Please take precautions to keep yourself and your families safe.

I want to share some good news – today I heard from a highly esteemed health care professional (easily the smartest person I know), that the new vaccine is proving to be highly effective.  Major Health Partners has been selected to be a distribution site.  So, please be patient and stay safe until the vaccine is made available.  This will be a process of many months, but it is coming!

Enjoy this video with information to keep in mind for Sunday's service.

FCC Friends,

I hope you were able to enjoy the Rev. Bill’s Pentecost message and Patrick’s solo in our Sunday Service video.  If you have not viewed it, I would recommend taking time to watch.  Everyone on the Praise Team and our Ministry Team are working hard to bring you a meaningful service.  It was unfortunate that we could not get the video posted for Sunday morning viewing.  Our hosting site,, had a server crash Saturday night and they were not able to get it fixed until Sunday night.  We were not the only impacted customer, and our Techteam has been working with Cloversites to make improvements in their service. feels the issue has stabilized and stated their upload performance has improved.  This improvement is good to get our information published faster for consumption.

The TechTeam is working hard on upgrading our technology for live streaming our Sunday Services once we are back in the building.  We have applied for a grant to assist with funding our upgrades.  We are very excited on the plan and look forward to expanding our digital presence.

Prayerfully yours,

Amanda Blackketter, Board Chair

Rev. Beth, Rev. Bill, and the Praise Team have recorded a fantastic service for you to watch.  Check out the Media page.  We are still working through hurdles to setup the Live Streaming.  Stay Tuned.

We are creating new resources for our younger congregation.  Marsha Glasco and the Worship and Wonder team are preparing weekly content that we would normally share during our worship service.

Keep checking the website.  We will update this section with additions and updates.
